If your zakatable assets are above nisab, yes. Otherwise, no.

Long Answer

In principle, a person is responsible to pay zakat if their zakatable assets are above nisab for an entire lunar year. This is irrespective of their employment status. Although being unemployed is difficult as it puts a person's financial future in doubt, zakat is due on the assets a person currently has. And Allah knows best
