Zakat
Zakat is one of the five fundamental pillars of Islam. It is the obligatory payment Muslims who hold a specific amount of wealth must pay to the needy, and is a means by which we purify our wealth.

Sadaqah

Sadaqa can mean any form of charity, obligatory or otherwise. Zakat is a form of Sadaqah.

Zakat al-Fitr

Zakat al-Fitr is a special donation of food Muslims make at the end of Ramadan. The portion donated serves to purify us of any sins we may have committed or mistakes we may have made while fasting in the holy month.

A dinar was a gold coin weighing just over 4 grams, used in early Islamic times.
